Assessment & Delivery Method

6 x Theory Online Portfolio Assessments

The Highfield Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety (RQF) is delivered via Distance Learning online through Highfield Vault, an online ePortfolio System. Learners will require access to a suitable device (PC, Laptop) to access their course content.

The Highfield Vault is an ideal learning and assessment tool as it provides a platform for learners to keep track of their progress, upload supporting evidence, all whilst receiving live feedback from their assessor.

2 x Practical Observation Assessments

Elements of the Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety (RQF) require learners to be assessed  within a Stewarding Capacity at 2 live events to confirm occupational competence.  Any additional expenses incurred by our Trainers / Assessors (e.g. for on-site courses or assessments) will be the responsibility of the candidate undertaking training.

Learners are expected to demonstrate competence to the standards required over a period of time. Therefore, to ensure validity, evidence should be naturally occurring and collected through performance in the workplace.

Only in circumstances where it is difficult to collect evidence through a real work environment situation, and is deemed acceptable in specific unit guidance, may simulation be permitted.

Simulation should only be undertaken:

  • where events either never or infrequently occur and yet a high degree of confidence is needed that the learner would act appropriately, for example: dealing with a fire, health and safety activities that fall outside, or are secondary to, normal practices; or
  • where events happen frequently but where there is a risk of harm to the learner or client in a real situation, for example, dealing with relationship difficulties and conflicts (although evidence from direct observation should be used where possible).

Units where simulation is permitted

  • Deal with incidents at spectator events

Work/Industry Placement Requirement

This qualification requires candidates to complete a work/industry placement assessment during the delivery of the qualification before certification can take place.

An assessor will visit a learners place of work to undertake an observation & assessment activity in respect of the practical observation requirements for the Competency Table – this is usually done around a learners normal working/placement patterns.

Any learner being enrolled should already at minimum, have access to a live event where they are working in a Stewarding Capacity.

Our assessor will therefore require unhindered access (AAA) to an event where a learner is working to complete the practical observation assessment. There should be agreements in place with your employer and clients to allow our assessors access to an event to carry out the Practical Observation.

COST OF COURSE

£420 per learner
(£350 + VAT)

An additional fee of £50 will be applied where a learner requires additional training to meet the First Aid requirement.  Learners who require this will be invited to attend a First Aid training day during the delivery of this course.
